Brighton dominated the first half for long periods and should have been ahead early on when Leonardo Ulloa struck an effort straight at Chris Kirkland in the Wednesday goal.

Andrew Crofts twice had the opportunity to give his team the lead midway through the first half but his first effort was blocked by Lewis Buxton inside the box.

The midfielder's next shot beat the visiting defenders before being pushed to safety by Kirkland.

Matty Fryatt fired his team ahead against the run of play when he created some space inside the area before calmly slotting the ball past Tomasz Kuszczak.

Chances proved to be hard to come by for the home side as Wednesday looked to hold on for a precious victory.

Kemy Agustien came off the bench to make an impact for Brighton but the lively substitute was denied by Kirkland when his effort on goal was deflected.

Brighton could have been level in the 75th minute when Keith Andrews volleyed just wide of the post from outside the box.

Jeremy Helan had the opportunity to double the size of his side's victory in the closing stages but he was denied by Kuszczak.

That save proved to be vital as Brighton claimed a point in the final minute when Andrews arrived late at the back post to tap in an equaliser from close range.
