David McCracken goal gives Falkirk Scottish Championship victory over Cowdenbeath

David McCracken scores the only goal of the game as Falkirk beat Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Championship.

Falkirk have moved into the Scottish Championship playoff places after a 1-0 victory over Cowdenbeath.

David McCracken scored the only goal of the game just before half time.

Falkirk were on the attack early, with John Baird and Will Vaulks missing the target and Taylor Morgan seeing his shot blocked.

Kudus Oyenuga and Lewis Toshney both had chances for Cowdenbeath before the break but failed to capitalise.

Former Dundee United centre-back McCracken gave the Bairns the lead on the verge of half time, heading into the roof of the net from an Alex Cooper corner.

Falkirk looked the more likely team to score in the second half as well, and Mark Kerr's shot was saved by Robbie Thomson in the 54th minute.

Peter Grant then missed the target and Blair Alston's shot was blocked with 20 minutes remaining.

Falkirk move up to fourth in the Scottish Championship, while Cowdenbeath stay in ninth.
