Erling Braut Haaland dismisses Borussia Dortmund 'stepping stone' claims

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland dismissed claims that he is using the Bundesliga outfit as a "stepping stone" and insists that he is happy in Germany.

Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland has dismissed claims that he is using Lucien Favre's side as a "stepping stone" in his career.

The Norwegian joined Dortmund from Austrian side RB Salzburg in January and has become one of the most sought-after prospects in football after registering nine goals in his first eight Bundesliga appearances.

Speculation has been rife regarding the 19-year-old's future recently, with Real Madrid being strongly linked with a move for Haaland in the near future.

Nevertheless, speaking to Get French Football, the striker insisted that he is more than happy in Germany, saying: "I have just arrived. I am very happy here. I want to achieve many things. I am only concentrating on that.

"The stadium here gives me goosebumps, and I feel well-surrounded here. I am very happy to be here. I want to enjoy every second, to do great things and think about nothing else."

Favre's side will travel to Paris for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, with Haaland's brace giving Dortmund a 2-1 first-leg victory at the Signal Iduna Park.
