Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale and head coach Zinedine Zidane call a truce after a turbulent few days, according to a report.

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale and head coach Zinedine Zidane have reportedly called a truce after the pair's relationship hit an all-time low at the weekend.

Bale was left out of Madrid's first pre-season game against Bayern Munich on Saturday, with Zidane claiming that the Wales international was close to leaving the club.

The attacker has since been strongly linked with a move to the Chinese Super League before their transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Bale was introduced back into the fold for Madrid's pre-season clash against Arsenal on Tuesday, though, and found the back of the net after entering as a half-time substitute.

According to Marca, Zidane and Bale have now called a truce after the interest from China cooled, making it difficult for the 30-year-old to leave the Bernabeu before the transfer window shuts.

The report claims that the former Southampton youngster is still not in the plans of the head coach, but their relationship has improved.

Los Blancos will continue their preparations for the 2019-20 campaign with an International Champions Cup fixture against Atletico Madrid on Friday.
