Emilio Butragueno backs Carlo Ancelotti

Real Madrid director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno insists that head coach Carlo Ancelotti still has the club's full backing.

Real Madrid director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno has insisted that Carlo Ancelotti's position as manager of the Spanish outfit is safe, despite a host of speculation.

The Italian led Los Blancos to a Champions League and Copa del Rey double during his first season in charge, but the Spanish side are still fighting on two fronts this term.

Despite Ancelotti's success, it has been suggested in various quarters that his position is currently unsafe. Butragueno, however, has insisted that the experienced manager still has the club's full backing.

"Madrid have a coach with great experience and we believe that we can find a solution," Butragueno told TVE.

Ancelotti's current deal at the Bernabeu expires next summer.
