Charles Green happy with Rangers talks

Incoming Rangers owner Charles Green claims that talks with the SFA and the SPL have gone well.

Incoming Rangers owner Charles Green has said that talks with the Scottish Football Association and the Scottish Premier League have gone well.

The former Sheffield United chief executive met with officials on Thursday to discuss his potential takeover.

"The meeting went very well. It's the first time I have met the SFA or the SPL, so clearly it was important to speak to them and introduce myself," Green told Sky Sports News.

"The questions that they were asking were the obvious questions - what our intentions are, where we plan to go. We have achieved quite a lot. We spoke to members of the board of the SFA and we have just spoken with executives of the SPL. I think it's been a very productive afternoon.

"We are happy that everyone is positive and looking at what is best for Rangers and for the SPL. We are encouraged with the meetings this afternoon."

The Glasgow club had their appeal over a 12-month transfer embargo rejected on Wednesday night.
