Julio Cesar committed to Queens Park Rangers

Julio Cesar admits Queens Park Rangers' struggles this season have come as a huge shock but insists that he is committed to the club for the long term.

Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar has insisted that he is committed to helping the Hoops beat the drop this season.

Cesar has been under siege for long spells so far this season, with QPR rooted to the foot of Premier League.

The Brazilian international has admitted that Mark Hughes's sacking came as no surprise after 13 games without a win.

He told The Sun: "I've never been in this situation in my life, I've always been fighting for titles. It's a bad moment for us but many, many things are behind the situation.

"It was not a big surprise that Mark Hughes got sacked, it was normal. If you go 13 games without a win it's very difficult for a coach to stay.

"My contract is for four years and I hope I will be here all that time. I liked Mr Fernandes the first time I spoke to him. He is a very straightforward person who knows what he wants. I'm enjoying the club despite it being a bad situation at this moment."

The 33-year-old has been ruled out of today's trip to Wigan Athletic as he continues to recover from a groin problem.
