Joey Barton has refused to confirm whether he will return to Queens Park Rangers when his loan spell with Marseille comes to an end in the summer.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp claimed on Friday that he would be surprised if the 30-year-old midfielder wanted to come back to England.

Barton tweeted: "Not sure what Harry Redknapp has said today but my priorities are to help Marseille qualify for next seasons Champions League.

"There are more important matters closer at hand for both clubs, than what I am doing next season. Once this season has finished and the dust has settled, we'll get it sorted. Hope that clears it up for those asking and I can concentrate on doing what I came here to do."

Barton joined QPR on a four-year deal from Newcastle United in summer 2011.
