Mark Bowen says that Queens Park Rangers should stick with Mark Hughes as the club's manager.

Queens Park Rangers assistant manager Mark Bowen has played down suggestions that Harry Redknapp will replace Mark Hughes as the side's boss.

Redknapp has been without a club since leaving Tottenham Hotspur at the end of last season while Hughes has come under pressure following the Hoops' poor start to the campaign.

Despite QPR failing to secure a win in any of their opening 10 Premier League matches, Bowen believes that replacing Hughes would be the wrong thing to do.

"Harry Redknapp took over Southampton in 2005 as the big saviour and he took them down," said Bowen. "I played under Harry, I know the way he works.

"When we went to [manage] Fulham, at Christmas time we lost to West Ham at home 3-1 and we got booed off the pitch and everyone was screaming for Mark Hughes to leave - we were second or third from bottom.

"That year we finished eighth."

Bowen has served as assistant manager to Hughes in the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City and Fulham.
