Ezequiel Lavezzi admits he misses Italian football, with PSG departure likely

With the Paris Saint-Germain forward's contract coming to a close at the end of the current season, Ezequiel Lavezzi admits that he misses Italian football.

Ezequiel Lavezzi has admitted that he misses Italian football, with the Paris Saint-Germain forward's contract coming to a close at the end of the current season.

The Argentina international signed for PSG from Serie A side Napoli in 2012, but has now suggested that a move back to Italy is a possibility next summer.

"I especially miss the football," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport when asked if he misses life in Italy.

"I am Argentinean and am used to the pressure. We're used to living our football in intense fashion, even when there is love and hate. Naples is a special city, but football is really intense throughout all of Italy. Life is different here (in France). It isn't better or worse, but it is different."

The 30-year-old added: "There are several options and I still have several months to decide what is best for me. This is my last contract and I want to play for a club that will motivate me. My focus will also be on the city and the quality of life there.

"At this time I'm on the outside looking in, even if I never say never. Who knows, I could even stop playing and move to Argentina."

Since joining the club for a reported fee of €26.5m (£18.6m), Lavezzi has made 152 appearances for PSG, scoring 34 goals.
