Ezequiel Lavezzi: 'We are out to beat Monaco on both occasions'

Paris Saint-Germain winger Ezequiel Lavezzi insists that the Parisians have set their collective sights on beating Monaco twice in the next four days.

Paris Saint-Germain winger Ezequiel Lavezzi has insisted that his side have their sights on beating Monaco as the sides prepare to face each other twice in four days.

PSG have the chance to climb into top spot in the Ligue 1 standings with victory on Sunday, while the two teams will then do battle again on Wednesday in the last eight of the Coupe de France.

"I think we have trained really well this week to prepare for what will be a very difficult match of football," Lavezzi told the club's official website.

"We have confidence in ourselves to get the right result in these two games and, above all, win them. Both matches are important. We will be taking a great team.

"These types of matches are a chance to see where we're at. They are great matches to play, but first and foremost, to win."

Laurent Blanc's men currently hold second spot in the Ligue 1 table, but have a game in hand on current leaders Lyon.
