Zlatan Ibrahimovic to miss Monaco double-header through suspension

Paris Saint-Germain will miss two matches with Monaco in March after being handed a two-game suspension by the French football association.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss two matches against Monaco in March after being handed a suspension by the French Football Association.

Ibrahimovic was given a yellow card for a foul on Romain Hamouma late in the 1-0 victory over St Etienne, but a disciplinary committee has reviewed the incident and decided that the Swede should have been sent off.

The 33-year-old was given a two-match ban, which will begin on March 1 when PSG take on Monaco in Ligue 1, and he will also miss the Coupe de France clash against the same opponents three days later.

Ibrahimovic will be available for Saturday's match against Toulouse as PSG look to climb to the top of the table before Lyon and Marseille return to action later in the weekend.

The ban also includes a further match suspended if he is punished by the committee again.
