Parma 3-1 Inter Milan

Inter Milan miss the chance to move level on points with third-placed Napoli after losing 3-1 to Parma.

Inter Milan's hopes of Champions League qualification have taken a blow after they fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Parma this evening.

The visitors were ahead within 15 minutes when Wesley Sneijder fired his shot inside the near post having been found by Dejan Stankovic.

Parma couldn't find an equalising goal before the break, but made a perfect start to the second period, taking the lead within 10 minutes of the restart.

First, Sebastian Giovinco stole the ball off Lucio before squaring it to Fernando Marques for a simple tap-in. Giovinco then got himself on the scoresheet just two minutes later when Daniele Galloppa's long ball beat the defence, allowing the Italy international to slide the ball home.

Parma doubled their lead with just over five minutes to go when Jonathan Biabiany beat Julio Cesar to the ball, giving him an easy finish.

The result means that Parma now sit eighth in the Serie A table, while Inter missed the chance to move level on points with third-placed Napoli, instead dropping a place to sixth.
