A quiet first half saw the sides go in level at the break, but Paulo Dybala eventually broke the deadlock to put Palermo ahead in the 52nd minute.

It was the Argentinian who struck again 20 minutes later to give the home team a comfortable lead and the valuable three points.

The win moves the Sicilian side up five places.
