Kim Bo-kyung strike earns Wigan Athletic vital win over Norwich City

Wigan Athletic claim a vital 1-0 victory over Norwich City in their bid for Championship survival, thanks to a first-half goal from Kim Bo-kyung.

Kim Bo-kyung's first-half strike earned visitors Wigan Athletic a vital 1-0 victory over Norwich City in the Championship this evening.

Norwich were the first side to carve something out and it came through Graham Dorrans, who saw his shot from distance fly past the left post following some neat work from Cameron Jerome.

Wigan took the lead with what was their first chance of the game in the eighth minute, as Kimg collected from Leon Clarke before lashing into the top-right corner.

Martin Olsson sought to drag Norwich back into the contest when he let fly from outside of the box, but his shot was saved comfortably in the centre of goal by Scott Carson.

Dorrans was back again for Norwich before the end of the half with the midfielder sending in a strong effort that was saved by Carson, leaving Wigan to take a slender advantage into the break.

City continued to search for an equaliser in the second period as Nathan Redmond swung in a cross for Sebastien Bassong, with the defender blazing over the bar from the centre of the box.

The home side were wasteful again with just under 20 minutes to play when Bradley Johnson scuffed wide of the target from six yards out, leaving Wigan to claim an important win away from home.
