Derby County skipper Richard Keogh humbled by PFA Team of the Year inclusion

Derby County captain Richard Keogh expresses his delight at being named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

Derby County captain Richard Keogh has described it as "very humbling" to have been voted into the PFA Championship Team of the Year by his fellow professionals.

Keogh was yesterday named in the PFA XI and was the only Derby player present in the lineup.

"It was very humbling to be voted into the Team of the Year, even more so when it comes from the players that you play with and against week in, week out," Keogh told the Rams' website.

"It's a huge honour. It's something that I'm really proud of and a lot of thanks goes to the people that did vote for me, to be voted by my fellow professionals is really special."

Keogh's performances have helped Derby into playoff contention, but their place in the top six is not yet sealed with just one game of the season to go.

If they lose to Reading on Saturday, then it opens the door for either Brentford or Wolverhampton Wanderers to snatch their place in the playoffs.
