Tim Krul looking forward to facing Louis van Gaal

Newcastle United keeper Tim Krul reveals that he is determined to beat his former manager when his side take on Louis van Gaal's Manchester United at St James' Park.

Newcastle United keeper Tim Krul has admitted that he is looking forward to seeing Louis van Gaal again as he believes that his Manchester United side do not enjoy their visits to St James' Park.

The 26-year-old played under Van Gaal for the Netherlands as they reached the semi-finals of the World Cup, including the memorable moment when he was brought off the bench to replace Jasper Cillessen and inspire his side to a penalty-shootout win over Costa Rica.

However, Krul has insisted that all good feelings between him and the 63-year-old will end at kickoff as he hopes to beat his former manager in their Premier League clash.

He told Sky Sports News: "We had a great 10 weeks, memorable forever. I will never forget those experiences. I learnt a lot from Louis van Gaal.

"I am looking forward to seeing him on Wednesday - and taking three points from him. Wednesday is a massive game. They are always big, big games against Manchester United here, and we are confident because they don't like coming here."

Newcastle are 11th in the Premier League table ahead of their meeting with the Red Devils on Wednesday.
