Result: Nancy 3-2 Saint Etienne

Jean Fernandez has steered Nancy to safety with a 3-2 win over Saint Etienne in their penultimate game of the season.

Nancy have confirmed their stay in France's top flight with a 3-2 victory over Saint Etienne.

Alejandro Alonso and Sylvain Marchal both missed chances to put the visitors in front early on at the Stade Marcel Picot before Benjamin Moukandjo broke the deadlock after six minutes.

Moukandjo made it two in the 21st minute before Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang halved the deficit after 39 minutes to keep Les Verts in the game.

However, Yohan Mollo quickly restored the hosts' two-goal cushion just before half time.

Laurent Battles came off the bench to score with 20 minutes to go, ensuring that it was a nervy finish for the home side.

Jean Fernandez's men were able to hang on for the precious points that secured their safety in Ligue 1.
