Chicago Fire have climbed to within two points of the MLS Eastern Conference playoffs after beating Montreal Impact at Toyota Park.

Joel Lindpere put the hosts ahead on six minutes with a deflected strike from long range.

Dilly Duka doubled Fire's lead midway through the first half with a fine solo effort.

Felipe Martins belted home a left-footed strike in the 57th minute to give Montreal hope.

However, despite a sustained period of late pressure, the Canadian outfit were unable to avoid a seventh league defeat of the season.
