Millwall goalkeeper David Forde reveals that he is in talks with the club over a new contract.

Millwall goalkeeper David Forde has said that he is close to agreeing a new deal with the club.

The 33-year-old, whose current contract expires in the summer, has been linked with moves to Celtic and Swansea City.

The Republic of Ireland international has admitted that he would be willing to remain with the Lions.

"I had a chat with the chairman last week and it was a good, positive chat," Forde told The Herald.

"We are still talking at the moment, but if conditions are favourable and terms are right, I would envisage myself staying. I have waited so long to play for my country and I don't want to give it up now, so that's a big factor in my thinking.

"I am lucky enough to be in a job I love doing, but I want to be able to provide for my family."

Forde has made 254 appearances for Millwall since joining the club from Bournemouth in 2008.
