Long-serving Manchester United defender Antonio Valencia wants to stay on at Old Trafford for at least another year, according to a report.

Antonio Valencia reportedly has no plans to leave Manchester United this month, despite falling down the pecking order under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Ecuador international is now into his 10th season as a United player, having joined from Wigan Athletic in a reported £16m deal a decade ago.

Solskjaer has used the winger-cum-defender sparingly since taking over in December, however, deploying him only once so far - in the 2-0 win over Newcastle United on January 2.

United have yet to trigger the option of a one-year contract in Valencia's contract, meaning that as things stand he will become a free agent in the summer.

According to The Times, though, the 33-year-old hopes to stay on at Old Trafford for at least another year and potentially even see out his career at the club.

The Red Devils are rumoured to have already started looking for full-back replacements, with Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka on their radar.
