Birmingham City announce that Manchester United defender Tom Thorpe has re-signed for the club on an emergency loan deal until the end of the season.

Birmingham City have confirmed that Manchester United defender Tom Thorpe has returned to the club on an emergency loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old initially moved to the Championship outfit on a temporary basis on transfer deadline day in January.

However, Thorpe was returned to his parent club after he suffered an ankle injury just 14 minutes into his debut against Derby County in February.

Now that he has recovered, Thorpe has re-signed for Birmingham and will wear the squad number five.
