Manchester United are reportedly ready to launch a £6m bid to sign AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong this summer.

Manchester United are lining up a move for AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong, according to a report.

New Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal coaches the 29-year-old for the Netherlands and believes that he will be the perfect addition to his side's midfield at Old Trafford next season in an enforcer role.

The 62-year-old has told United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to launch a £6m bid for the former Manchester City midfielder, reports The People.

De Jong made 42 appearances for Milan in all competitions last season, scoring two goals.
