A report claims that Real Madrid are Kai Havertz's preferred club this season if he has the chance to leave Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz reportedly favours a move to Real Madrid over Chelsea or Manchester United so that he can link up with his idol Toni Kroos.

The 21-year-old has once again lit up the Bundesliga this season with 12 goals and a further six assists, leading to rumoured interest from Premier League pair Chelsea and United.

Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick also recently confirmed his side's interest in the Germany international, but Madrid are said to be the frontrunners to sign him.

According to German outlet Sportbuzzer, Havertz would love the opportunity to play in the same side as countryman Kroos, who he grew up idolising.

Kroos spent a season on loan with Leverkusen in 2009-10 before breaking into Bayern's first team and earning a move to Madrid, where he has spent the past six years.

Havertz has two seasons to run on his existing deal with Leverkusen and is believed to be valued in the region of £90m.
