Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams reportedly remains a target for Newcastle United and Southampton ahead of transfer deadline day.

Newcastle United and Southampton are reportedly still hopeful of striking a deal for Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams.

Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that fringe players could be heading for the Old Trafford exit door before the transfer window closes on February 1.

The impressive form of Luke Shaw has kept Williams out of the team in recent weeks, while Alex Telles is also ahead of the 20-year-old in the pecking order at Man United.

Newcastle and Southampton have both been credited with an interest in a loan move, and Sky Sports News claims that the two Premier League sides are very much in the running for his signature.

However, the report adds that a plethora of Championship clubs are also keeping tabs on the situation, and Man United are yet to decide whether to sanction an exit for Williams - temporarily or permanently.

Williams has only made one Premier League appearance for United this term, and his only starts have come in the FA Cup and EFL Cup.
