Gary Neville questions Manchester United's reported pursuit of Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, who is said to be unhappy at the Bernabeu.

Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has raised doubts over the club's reported pursuit of Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.

The Premier League giants are said to have pounced after it emerged that Ramos is unhappy with his current contract situation at the Bernabeu.

It is believed that United want the Spain international included in a deal that would result in goalkeeper David de Gea leaving Old Trafford for a return to his homeland.

On Twitter, Neville alluded to rumours that the Red Devils are willing to pay a significant sum and offload De Gea in order to secure Ramos's signature, but the Sky Sports pundit has questioned the approach.

Neville wrote: "These reports saying 40m plus DDG for Ramos?? Please no! Nothing v Ramos but it can't be right.."

Some reports have suggested that Ramos could be using United as a bargaining chip to get a better contract offer from Madrid.
