Manchester United 'expect David de Gea to stay, despite Victor Valdes arrival'

Manchester United are reportedly confident that goalkeeper David de Gea will sign a new deal, despite the imminent arrival of ex-Barcelona shot-stopper Victor Valdes.

Manchester United are reportedly confident that goalkeeper David de Gea will sign a new contract at Old Trafford, despite the imminent arrival of Victor Valdes.

The former Barcelona shot-stopper, who has been a free agent since last summer, is believed to have signed an 18-month contract with the Red Devils.

Despite the acquisition and rumours that Real Madrid are keen to sign De Gea, United are relaxed about the situation and expect the Spaniard to agree fresh terms, according to The Express.

Other reports have claimed that United are monitoring Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul and will launch a bid should De Gea decide to leave for the Bernabeu.
