Manchester United will not sign Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger this summer, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly no longer in the race to sign Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger.

The Germany international's contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire at the end of June, and he is currently unable to sign a new deal with the Blues due to the sanctions placed on owner Roman Abramovich.

Man United have been strongly linked with the defender over the last few weeks, with the Red Devils believed to have been in touch with his representatives to discuss a move to Old Trafford.

However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 20-time English champions are now 'out of the race' for his signature on a free transfer.

Romano claims that Bayern Munich are also out of the running, with Real Madrid now the clear favourites to sign the German upon the expiration of his contract with Thomas Tuchel's side.

The 29-year-old has been a key player for Chelsea during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring five times and registering four assists in 47 appearances in all competitions.

Man United are still determined to sign a new centre-back this summer, with Villarreal's Pau Torres allegedly being considered by the club, who confirmed Erik ten Hag as their new boss on Thursday.
