Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly in the race to sign Declan Rice after Arsenal's initial bid of £90m was rejected by West Ham United.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City have reportedly entered the race to sign Declan Rice, with West Ham United rejecting an initial bid from Arsenal for the midfielder.

Mikel Arteta's Gunners have been perceived as the front-runners in the hunt for the 24-year-old's services next term, although an offer of £90m including add-ons is understood to have been rejected by the Hammers.

The England international helped David Moyes's men to their first major trophy since 1980 with a captain's performance in the Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina, but that night in Prague looks set to be the midfielder's last game in claret and blue.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are all keen on adding Rice to their respective engine rooms for the start of next season.

The report claims that West Ham's hierarchy are hoping that increased interest in the player will spark a bidding war over the next couple of weeks, with the East Londoners looking to earn over £100m off the sale of their prized asset.

It is understood that the structure of Arsenal's initial bid for the player was labelled 'embarrassing', signalling that the Hammers are demanding a significant amount of the transfer fee upfront - something that Manchester City may be able to provide.
