Jadon Sancho 'offered number seven shirt at Manchester United'

Manchester United reportedly offer Jadon Sancho the iconic number seven shirt, previously worn by Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, if he joins the club.

Manchester United have reportedly told Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho that he will be given the number seven shirt if he joins the club this summer.

Sancho has emerged as one of the most coveted players in world football following another stunning campaign with Dortmund which has seen him directly contribute to 30 goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances.

United are favourites to win the race for the 20-year-old, despite facing competition from the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The Mirror reports that the Red Devils have offered Sancho the chance to take the iconic number seven shirt, which has previously been worn by club legends such as George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Alexis Sanchez currently occupies the shirt at Old Trafford, but he is out on loan at Inter Milan and his future at the club beyond the next transfer window appears uncertain.

Dortmund are expected to command a fee of at least £100m for the England international, having given him the green light to leave if they receive a British-record transfer bid.
