Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly open to a move back to Serie A amid speculation about his Manchester United future.

Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly open to a move back to Serie A following his recent exile from the first team.

Ronaldo, 37, was demoted to training with the Under-21 squad following his alleged refusal to come on during the 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

This led to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner being left out of the matchday squad for the 1-1 draw away at Chelsea in the Premier League.

The fallout has led to speculation of the forward's future, with recent reports claiming that the player will meet with manager Erik ten Hag today for crunch talks.

In addition, he has been linked with a move away according to SunSport, who state that Ronaldo is open to a move back to Serie A, with Napoli reportedly interested.

With Piotr Zielinski being Napoli's top earner on £90,000 a week, it remains to be seen if they can afford to match Ronaldo's £360,000-a-week wage that he currently earns at United.

Ronaldo has scored just two goals and assisted only once in 12 appearances for Man United in all competitions this season, with just 340 minutes of domestic action to his name.
