Ramon Calderon: 'Sergio Ramos wants United move'

Sergio Ramos has his heart set on swapping Real Madrid for Manchester United, according to the Spanish club's ex-president Ramon Calderon.

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has claimed that defender Sergio Ramos wants to join Manchester United.

Speculation is rife that the Red Devils are primed for a big-money swoop after the 29-year-old reportedly told Real's hierarchy that he is keen to leave.

The Blancos are reported to have already knocked back a £35m bid in a development that is said to have seen Manchester City join the race.

However, Calderon says that the Spain international feels unloved at the Bernabeu and claims that he has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.

"I know Sergio has told the general manager to listen to offers they get from Manchester United. He only wants to go to United," he told BBC Sport.

"Things are in a very bad situation. As time has gone on, things have not only not improved, they have got worse.

"Now it is not a question of money. It is a lack of affection the player is feeling from Real Madrid."

Ramos joined the Madrid giants from Sevilla in 2005.
