Premier League in numbers: Week 35

Sports Mole looks back on the 35th round of Premier League fixtures with a selection of statistics from each encounter.

Leicester City 3-0 Newcastle United

The defeat was the eighth that the visiting Magpies have suffered in successive Premier League games.

Of his 17 games in charge of Newcastle, John Carver has been beaten on 12 occasions.

In contrast, Leicester boosted their survival chances by winning for the fifth time in six outings.

Aston Villa 3-2 Everton

Christian Benteke's brace took his tally to 11 goals in his last nine appearances.

Having scored his first ever goal for the club last week, Tom Cleverley now has two in as many outings.

The defeat was the first that Everton have suffered in six matches.

Liverpool 2-1 Queens Park Rangers

Steven Gerrard, who scored the winning goal, was appearing at Anfield for the penultimate time before his move to the MLS.

The Reds have scored 29 goals at home, whereas this time last season they had found the net 46 times in front of their own fans.

As for QPR, they have lost 14 of their 17 away matches this term.

Sunderland 2-1 Southampton

The Black Cats won for just the sixth time this season - only Burnley (five) have won fewer matches.

Sunderland's early lead lasted for just 78 seconds before Sadio Mane equalised.

The visiting Saints are without a win from their last three games.

Swansea City 2-0 Stoke City

Jefferson Montero scored his first ever goal for Swansea following his arrival at the Liberty Stadium last summer.

His goal helped the Swans to extend their unbeaten home record over Stoke to six matches.

Marc Wilson's red card for Stoke means that now every Premier League side has had at least one player dismissed this season.

West Ham United 1-0 Burnley

If Burnley are to stand any chance of securing their Premier League status, they must win each of their last three games.

The Clarets have failed to score in eight of their last nine outings.

West Ham had won only one of their previous 12 Premier League games.

Manchester United 0-1 West Bromwich Albion

Man United have lost three Premier League games on the trot for the first time since 2001.

Robin van Persie, who missed from the spot, had scored his previous six penalties for the Red Devils.

For Baggies boss Tony Pulis, it was a first win over United, having failed to emerge victorious from any of the previous 11 meetings.

Chelsea 1-0 Crystal Palace

The slender victory handed Chelsea the Premier League title for the first time since 2010.

It means that the Blues have won the Premier League on four occasions - only Manchester United (13) have won it more times.

Palace went into the game at Stamford Bridge on the back of five wins from six away encounters.

Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Manchester City

Sergio Aguero scored for the 10th time against Spurs, which is more goals than he has scored against any other English club.

It also marked the Argentine's 22nd Premier League goal of the campaign.

Hosting Spurs have won only two of their last seven Premier League matches.

Hull City 1-3 Arsenal

Summer signing Alexis Sanchez took his goal tally for the season to 24 by scoring twice at the KC Stadium.

It helped the Gunners to collect what was their 200th away victory in the Premier League.

Stephen Quinn's goal for the home side was the Irishman's first in the Premier League since 2007.
