A number of Manchester United players reportedly have concerns over whether Erik ten Hag is the right managerial appointment at Old Trafford.

Members of the Manchester United squad are reportedly unconvinced that Erik ten Hag is the right man to lead the club.

Last week, it was confirmed that the Dutchman would depart Ajax to sign a three-year deal - with the option of a fourth - at Old Trafford.

The clarity over the dugout has seemingly been welcomed by most with United having made the decision to appoint Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis earlier this campaign.

However, despite the powers-that-be at the Premier League giants making a concrete decision for the long term, The Times claims that some players continue to have concerns about the trajectory of the team and club.

The report claims that several of the first-team group have doubts over whether the 52-year-old is a strong-enough character to oversee the vast amount of changes which are required behind the scenes.

While another number of faces are said to be positive about the appointment, there is skepticism over whether Ten Hag is capable of making United a top-four club and closing the gap to the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
