Paul Merson: 'Manchester United are on a roll'

Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson claims that Manchester United "have turned a corner" following a run of four wins in all competitions.

Manchester United "have turned the corner" and are now "on a roll", according to former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson.

The Red Devils have been largely criticised for their performances this term, but have won their last four games in all competitions to ease the pressure on under-fire boss Louis van Gaal.

Back-to-back Premier League victories, including a 1-0 win over Watford on Wednesday, has moved Man United level on points with fourth-placed Manchester City and Merson has backed the team to enjoy a successful end to the season.

"Man United have turned the corner and sometimes you just need a little bit of luck," Merson told Sky Sports News.

"I thought they were lucky against Watford, who had a couple of chances and probably two months ago they would have scored and come away with a 2-0 win and everybody would have been booing. But they score in the last five minutes and everybody goes home happy, they are on a roll."

Man United will travel to West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
