Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata praises teammate David de Gea after the goalkeeper clocks up his 100th Premier League appearance for the club.

Juan Mata has praised Manchester United teammate David de Gea after the goalkeeper made his 100th appearance for the club against West Ham United.

The Spaniard reached the milestone in United's 2-1 victory over the Hammers at Old Trafford on Saturday.

"It was a special day for David De Gea, who has reached 100 Premier League games," Mata wrote in his blog on United's official website.

"He is one of the most skilled goalkeepers I've ever seen so I know you will play many more than 100, my friend."

De Gea joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
