Wayne Rooney, Nani and Ashley Young are in contention to return to Manchester United's squad for their Premier League clash against Chelsea on Sunday.

Manchester United trio Wayne Rooney, Nani and Ashley Young are racing to be fit for the Red Devils' Premier League battle against Chelsea on Sunday.

Rooney and his Portuguese teammate Nani have been sidelined for the Premier League champions' last two fixtures, while the former Aston Villa winger has been ruled out for a number of weeks.

"We're hopeful Wayne Rooney, Nani and possibly Ashley Young will be fit for Sunday," Ferguson told MUTV.

Sir Alex Ferguson may have to rely on Ben Amos in goal after making his league debut in United's 2-0 win over Stoke City last night due to the absence of David de Gea and Anders Lindegaard.

The Red Devils continue their pursuit of the Premier League title after drawing level on points with Manchester City at the top of the table.
