Zlatan Ibrahimovic: 'Jose Mourinho decisive in Manchester United move'

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic admits that his current side are weaker than the PSG team he left during the summer.

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that the presence of Jose Mourinho was the deciding factor for him to join the club from Paris Saint-Germain during the summer.

The 35-year-old ended a trophy-laden four-year spell in the French capital in order to move to Old Trafford on a free transfer, despite the Red Devils being without Champions League football.

Ibrahimovic admitted that United are a weaker side than the PSG team he left, but insists that he is up for the challenge of taking the club back to the top of English football.

"The presence of Mourinho was very much decisive. The team I signed for this summer is not as strong as the one I left, but when Mourinho called the decision was easy," Ibrahimovic told Swedish publication Aftenbladet.

"When he calls I have no problem coming, all we had to decide was when I was to be presented as a United player. The rest, the financial deal, was not the difficult part.

"It was about the challenge really, and I will never say no to a challenge. This is what I wanted, coming to one of the world's biggest clubs, that has had troubles and not won much of late, and try the Premier League. That is the challenge."

Ibrahimovic has scored six goals in 11 Premier League games for United so far this season.
