Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel di Maria wants to forget "sad" Man Utd spell

Angel di Maria does not want to be reminded of his "sad experience" at Manchester United as he looks to drive Paris Saint-Germain on to domestic and European success.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Angel di Maria has said that he does not want to be reminded about his "sad" solitary season with Manchester United.

The Argentine arrived at Old Trafford for around £60m from Real Madrid in August 2014, but left for £44m to join PSG just a year later after struggling to make an impact with the Red Devils.

The 27-year-old has returned to form in the French capital, scoring 12 goals in all competitions for PSG, who are 24 points clear at the top of Ligue 1.

"Manchester United was a sad experience," Di Maria told L'Equipe. "Things didn't go as I had hoped. I was disappointed and it didn't help me to rise to the surface.

"Honestly, I don't even remember any more what happened and I don't want to remember. I am happy to be here and that's the most important thing."

Di Maria will be aiming to prove his mettle against English opposition when PSG take on Chelsea in the Champions League last 16 later this month.
