Demba Ba is confident that Newcastle can snatch some points from Manchester United this weekend despite losing to Manchester City on Saturday.

Newcastle United striker Demba Ba believes that the Magpies have enough quality to get a result at Old Trafford this weekend despite ending their unbeaten run.

The North East side failed to continue their impressive run with a 3-1 defeat to Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday.

"It's a disappointing result but there are positives," said Ba. "We have some very strong characters and I am sure this result will not affect us.

"We're not going to struggle mentally because of one defeat. I definitely think we can get something at United.

"We played well [against City] and still have plenty of confidence after this."

Alan Pardew's men take on the league title holders Manchester United on Saturday.
