Manchester City will reportedly reject any bid from Newcastle United for out-of-favour defender Nathan Ake in January.

Manchester City reportedly have no intention of parting ways with Nathan Ake during the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old has endured a frustrating season at the Etihad Stadium, making just five starts and two substitute appearances in all competitions.

At a time when the Netherlands international is no more than fourth choice in the pecking order at centre-back, Newcastle United have been heavily linked with an approach for the player.

However, according to Football Insider, City are not prepared to listen to any offers for Ake at the midway point of the campaign.

New Magpies boss Eddie Howe has allegedly identified Ake, who he worked with at Bournemouth, as one of his priority targets ahead of 2022.

The versatile Dutchman still has over three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, keeping City in a strong position when it comes to any discussions over his future.
