Manchester City reportedly settle on an asking price for midfielder Bernardo Silva ahead of the summer transfer window.

Manchester City reportedly have no intention of selling Bernardo Silva for a cut-price fee during the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old is approaching legendary status at the Etihad Stadium for the contribution that he has made since his arrival in 2017.

As well as winning four Premier League titles and five domestic cup competitions, Silva has made 298 appearances, contributing 53 goals and 58 assists.

However, despite the Portugal international remaining as a key man under Pep Guardiola, there has been constant speculation regarding his future.

Although the playmaker has an affinity with the club, he has also not shied away from admitting that he is open to taking on a new challenge.

That has been accepted by Guardiola, but a transfer away from the current top-flight leaders has never come close to fruition because of his high valuation.

Holding a contract until 2025, that could theoretically reduce over the coming transfer windows with City having no intention of risking a free transfer.

Nevertheless, according to 90min, City intend to demand in the region of £75m when interest is shown at the end of the season.

While it is stated that City will not stand in Silva's way of an exit, they are not willing to facilitate a sale for a cut-price fee.

Barcelona are known to be long-term admirers of Silva, but the Catalan giants are not in a position to make such a bid in the summer as they bid to improve their situation with FFP.

That is a potential stumbling block with the report claiming that Silva is only interested in a switch to Camp Nou, rather than wanting to entertain a move to fellow admirers Paris Saint-Germain.

Silva has already spent three years in France with Monaco and a second stint in Ligue 1 seemingly has no appeal to Silva at this stage of his career.

Benfica, a former club of Silva's, is another possible destination towards the back end of his playing days, but that move is not plausible in the short term.
