Corinthians' director of football hints that the club are back in negotiations over a move for troubled Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

Corinthians' director of football has hinted that the club could sign Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

The Argentine was close to a move back to his former club over the summer, but a reported £35m deal broke down.

Despite previous negotiations, Edu Gaspar has revealed that he has had recent contact with the Premier League club.

"I have a great friend who works in City, Patrick Vieira," he told reporters in Brazil. "I ask questions, I want to know. Everything I did is now known by Andres [Sanchez, club president], the important people, the contacts.

"He is a player who, disregarding his state of mind, has his own value. It is difficult to talk about a price to say if he is worth it or not.

"City have said that Tevez must stay out of the club for a month. Mancini said that he does not want him back. We will hope to resolve his situation, but at the moment there is nothing too concrete."

Tevez is facing disciplinary action from City after his refusal to play during their Champions League match against Bayern Munich last month.
