The 29-year-old featured in his country's 4-3 defeat in New York, despite having recently undergone surgery on a fractured collarbone.
Barca have been angered by the player's actions and are now considering disciplinary action, according to Spanish paper Marca.
Alves has stated his willingness to stay with the Catalan giants, but is believed that the row could now pave the way for the full-back's move to Manchester City.
