Aitor Karanka full of praise for Middlesbrough after Manchester City upset

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka admits that he is 'lost for words' after watching his side knock Premier League champions Manchester City out of the FA Cup.

Aitor Karanka has admitted that he was almost lost for words after seeing his Middlesbough side knock Manchester City out of the FA Cup this afternoon.

Boro won 2-0 away from home thanks to goals from Patrick Bamford and Kike, but they also have Tomas Mejias to thank after an impressive goalkeeping display.

"I can't find words to explain my feelings today." he told BBC Sport. "But I'm proud of the players, the crowd, the fans, the staff and the club. They had a lot of chances to score in the first half and I was concerned, because they have a lot of quality.

"They always have an attacking threat, and it was our third game in a week. We could have won by more because we were very well organised and have quality up front.

"We played Liverpool in the Capital One Cup and played very well. Against an amazing squad with a very good manager. We were very organised, and when we are organised, we have the quality up front to win games."

Middlesborough have never won the FA Cup, but did finish as runners-up to Chelsea in 1997.
