Tiago Ilori to return to Liverpool?

Aston Villa are reportedly considering terminating the loan of Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori during the January transfer window.

Aston Villa are considering ending Tiago Ilori's loan spell from Liverpool early during the January transfer window, according to reports.

Ilori joined the Villans on transfer deadline day in September, but has failed to make a single appearance for the club despite their struggles this season.

Villa paid a £1m loan fee for the 22-year-old with the option to sign the player on a permanent basis at the end of the season, but the Portuguese defender could now find himself back at Anfield this month having failed to force his way into Remi Garde's plans.

Ilori is also yet to make his senior Liverpool debut despite joining the club for £7m from Sporting Lisbon three years ago.

Liverpool currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, five points off the top four, while Villa are 11 points adrift of safety at the bottom of the standings.
