Liverpool will make an offer to Southampton for defender Dejan Lovren, according to a report.

Liverpool are preparing to make a summer bid for Southampton defender Dejan Lovren, according to a report.

The Mirror claims that Reds manager Brendan Rodgers wants to recruit a centre-back for next season and is keen on adding the 24-year-old to his squad.

It has also been reported that the Croatia international was linked with a move to Liverpool last summer before he joined Southampton from Lyon.

Lovren's current contract with the Saints runs until June 2017.
