Liverpool defender Jose Enrique says that he would like a long career with the club.

Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is hoping for a lengthy career at the club.

The Spaniard had fallen out of favour with Reds manager Brendan Rodgers earlier in the season but has since started the last six games for the Anfield outfit, and the former Newcastle United full-back would like a prolonged stay at the five-time European champions.

"I want to be here for a long time. This is the biggest club I have ever played for," he told The Guardian.

"The fans are amazing, I am really happy in the city. I want to play here for a long, long time. Football has different moments. Now I feel as if I am playing well and I hope I can continue like this. The most important thing is to help the team as much as possible."

The 26-year-old had a goal ruled out for offside in Sunday's 0-0 draw with Swansea City.
