Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers refuses to speak about Luis Suarez

Brendan Rodgers refuses to discuss the future of Luis Suarez following reports that the Liverpool striker has decided to stay at the club.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has refused to discuss any potential developments regarding Luis Suarez's future.

The Northern Irishman previously stated that the Uruguay international would need to issue an apology before being considered for selection after claims that the club had gone back on their promise of allowing him to leave for a Champions League outfit this summer.

This week, Suarez was quoted as saying that he has decided to stay at Anfield following two rejected bids from Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Following the new development, when asked about the situation regarding Suarez in a press conference, Rodgers said: "It's very simple. There's been so much written about Luis and said over the last few months. What I want to concentrate on is the players that are available for this weekend, so I won't be speaking any more about Luis Suarez until he is available.

"Because the players that have been working ever so hard over the course of the last few months in order for this game, out of respect for the them, I want to only speak about them."

Suarez is banned for the first six matches of the season after biting the arm of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic towards the end of the 2012-13 campaign.
