Alan Pardew: 'Crystal Palace can cope with Liverpool pressing'

Alan Pardew says that his Crystal Palace side have prepared well for their trip to Liverpool on Sunday.

Alan Pardew has said that Crystal Palace will be able to combat Liverpool's "higher press" when the two sides face off at Anfield on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp has implemented a new style on Merseyside since his arrival last month, but Pardew feels that Palace have prepared well for the German's tactics.

"Klopp has arrived at that football club with great players, so their results are not a surprise," Pardew told the club's official website.

"Certainly there's a higher press from the team under Klopp's management. We know that's coming, we'll expect that and we can cope with that.

"What he's added is the freshness of a new manager and that has gone into the players.

"Of course, his style at Dortmund was the high press and that is what he's put into the Liverpool team - and had great success so far."

Pardew has also stated his intention to put Liverpool "under pressure" during Sunday's fixture.
